Shrek 2

While Rapunzel doesn’t physically appear, her star home is seen when Shrek and Fiona are going to the Far Far Away palace. In one of the pages Fiona’s diary, there is a drawing of the latter in a tower with Prince Charming climbing her hair, an allusion to the Rapunzel fairy-tale.

Shrek the Third

In Shrek The Third, Rapunzel is first seen with the other princesses attending King Harold’s funeral. She is later seen during Fiona’s baby shower until Prince Charming invades the castle and the princesses and Queen Lillian escape secretly. Eventually, Rapunzel pretends to find an exit and runs all the way to where Charming really is. The princesses and the Queen follow, but they are cornered by Charming’s knights. Rapunzel then reveals her true nature that she is on Charming schemes and his girlfriend and shows off her love and affection towards him and the ladies are imprisoned in a dungeon. While they are imprisoned, Rapunzel is practicing for her role in Prince Charming’s play. In the final performance, she sings and acts as a princess on top of a tower (mimicking Princess Fiona, whose situation itself was a mimic of Rapunzel’s) but the play was interrupted by all of Shrek’s friends and wife. Gingy enters the stage by holding on to her hair as he quickly gets down. He accidentally pulls all of her hair and Rapunzel gasps in horror (when it is revealed that she is actually bald). She later runs off the stage due to the embarrassment.

Rapunzel was referenced in the episode «Celebrity Fairytale Couples», being paired with Lancelot where there couple name was «Rapunzelot».

«Шрек» – это серия полнометражных анимационных фильмов по одноименному рассказу Уильяма Стейга. Именно из этой сказки были взяты главные герои рассказа, а также основная концепция повествования. Есть много отличных мультфильмов, а также ряд короткометражных фильмов.

Все фильмы рассказывают о приключениях большого зеленого людоеда по имени Шрек. В разных частях персонаж имеет дело с большим количеством сказочных героев, некоторые из которых остаются с героем до конца. Кроме того, все персонажи делятся на два лагеря: добрые и злые. Personality

As seen when he narrates his story at the beginning of Shrek 2, he is portrayed as a selfish and arrogant mother’s boy who tries to look good. He is also somewhat effeminate, which Shrek pokes fun of, calling him a pretty boy. He is sometimes not very intelligent, as seen where he pretends to be Shrek, he doesn’t know that he needed to act like Shrek to order to deceive Fiona (to be fair he hadn’t met Shrek yet so he was unaware of his personality other than being «dreadful»). He also believed, as shown in his last moments, that the «Happily Ever After» of being with Fiona belonged to him, but that Shrek stole it from him. However, in Shrek The Third, he was eager to avenge his mother after her death in Shrek 2, caused by Harold. He was very persuasive able to rally villains to his cause. He, along with his mother, was remorseless, unlike Harold, who formerly conspired with them, as he had no qualms about how what they were doing would affect Shrek. He presumably felt bad for the fairy tale villains in the 3rd film since they share the same loss as he does from his desire. He also had a crush on Fiona in the second movie, seeing how he wanted to marry her. However, after learning her loyalty belonged to Shrek, he lost all fellings he had for her ,and showed no remorse for harming her and her friends in the thrid movie.

Relationships

Family

He is the son of King Charming and Queen Charming and has two younger siblings, Dexter and Darling. Daring is naturally close with Dexter, his brother, and has been known to offer him encouragement and advice. However, Dexter has secret feelings that Daring is somewhat overshadowing him. Daring is also close with his sister, Darling. He helped search for her when she disappeared in «Way Too Wonderland», and Darling was the first person to notice Daring was missing when his hand mirror was left alone in «Dragon Games». Darling knows Daring well enough to be forward with him when he is vulnerable, such as when Daring realized he was not Apple’s Prince of Destiny, and Darling told him that it is time to turn the page, as some of them are not going to follow their original destinies.

According to the Ever After High books, he has numerous cousins and each set uses the same first letter in their names. The cousins are Bountiful, Beauteous, Breathtaking, and Beloved, Courageous, Cherished, Caring, and Charity, Elegant, Earnest and Errant, Fragile and Fearless. The youngest cousins seem to look up to him and during family get-togethers, he gladly plays games with them, even acting as the «slain beast». Fairest Charming is his youngest aunt, Siegfried is his oldest uncle. His grandparents are Alluring and Auspicious Charming.

Friends

Daring is close with Apple White, as they hang out together often. Daring also showed concern for Apple when she was poisoned in «Dragon Games».

Daring initially denied Cerise Hood’s request to try out for the bookball team, because he believed she was a «damsel-in-distress,» but later asked Cerise to join the Thronecoming game when they needed her. Later at the Thronecoming dance, Daring apologizes to Cerise for what he said, thanks Cerise for saving the game, and they share a dance.

Daring is also friends with most princes. Hopper Croakington II is his roommate and they get along as well, as well as his brother Dexter Charming. He and Dexter get along brotherly.

Romance

While Daring has the adoration of many girls in school and has been known to embrace this, he has shown little interest in being in a committed relationship. However, in «Lizzie Heart’s Fairytale First Date», Daring asks Lizzie Hearts out as a dare, but Daring ends up actually liking her. In A Wonderlandiful World, Daring goes to lengths to impress Lizzie and understand her riddlish sayings before being transformed by the Jabberwocky’s magic. Close to the end, Daring, now transformed into a beast cub, saves her and the other girls escape from the Jabberwocky, which later prompted Lizzie in ‘Friends would be Aces’ to accept his offer of friendship and knight him as protetor of wonderland- Though, that title would be rendered null as they’d have their memories wiped later on the chapter. In the next chapter, Daring decides to accomodate to Lizzie’s request of only being friends with pirates, which Lizzie welcomes since she feels her mother wouldn’t dissaprove of their friendship then. In Next Top Villain, Daring asks Lizzie out, but Lizzie rejects him. It is unclear what happened with their relationship, but Kitty Cheshire’s diary does reveal that Daring went to the movies with Duchess Swan after asking Lizzie out, which upset Lizzie.

Originally believing he was destined to be the next prince in Snow White, Daring did claim he was content to settle down with Apple White when the time came. She likewise finds him charming. When Apple is poisoned in «Dragon Games», it is revealed that Daring is not her Prince Charming when his kiss fails to wake her from her slumber. According to being in a two-pack in the «Epic Winter» doll line with Rosabella Beauty and turning into a beast in the TV special with the same title, his real destiny is to become Rosabella’s Beast. Both Rosabella and Daring have developed strong feelings for each other. In Rosabella and the Three Bears, it says that Daring might be Rosabella’s prince. He shows a great interest in her approval of him and seems willing to accept a destiny as the beast, looking to her as he says so which implies he wants their shared story.

Holly O’Hair and Duchess Swan have crushes on him. Farrah Goodfairy calls him charming.

Powers and Abilities

• Master Martial Artist: Fiona is highly trained and skilled in Japanese-style martial arts, making her a capable hand-to-hand combatant despite her size. She is able to defeat an entire group of Merrymen when they try to kill Shrek and knock out Charming with a headbutt for kissing her.
• Superhuman Strength (As An Ogre): In her ogre form, she gains the superhuman strength and durability possessed by ogres, complementing her already proficient martial arts skills. She is seen to be strong enough to hurl a mermaid far into the beach waters. In the alternative world, she is strong enough to kick Shrek with enough force that he gets thrown away. However, Shrek is still shown to be stronger than her, when he is able to hold his own when he spars with her, using his raw strength to overcome his lack of training and skill.

• Expert Weapon Combatant (Alternative World): In Shrek Forever After, as the leader of a group of ogre warriors, she is highly skillful in weapon-based combat, capable of hitting targets with axes with a blindfold on.

Personality

For the most part, Daring is his father’s son — he is, obviously, quite charming and handsome. He is also quite egotistical and conceited and very infatuated with his appearance, as he is often seen with a mirror or flashing his smile to girls. It is apparent that Daring’s sanity, confidence, and happiness all revolve around him seeing himself in the mirror. He does have some sense of duty though. He is often seen escorting his (previous) future queen Apple White and he is well-practiced in gallantry. Daring also takes extra precaution when his teeth get whitened by covering his mouth to not risk blinding passing students.

Aside from his confident airs, Daring has shown to be a sensitive guy at times, prone to emotional outbursts in times of great stress. His profile information says that he’s easily upset, though seeing something beautiful can calm him down (such as his own reflection). He cares greatly for his friends and family, especially his younger siblings who he tries to look out for (though not always in the best way). Nonetheless, he is not afraid to admit to his mistakes and apologize to others.

Appearance

Daring has short and wavy light blond hair, pale skin and pale blue eyes. He also wears letter jackets with EAH printed on them (which is the Ever After High school-logo), white, high-top sneakers with gold designs and crown on them, blue jeans, and blue, checkered-patterned vests underneath his letter jackets. In «Epic Winter», he wears his ‘Signature — Royals’ letter jacket with a fur-lined collar, but it is under the doll line, «Epic Winter», not «Signature» or «Signature — Royals«. He wears this in «Epic Winter», the TV special. His clothing mostly consists of letterman (sports) jackets or in other words «letter jackets» and gold crowns for his head. He dresses formally and casually with a mixture of letter jackets to bring out that unique look.

Interests

Daring’s primary interest is his own appearance, he is often seen admiring himself in his hand mirror. He is also one of Ever After High’s most athletic students, Daring goes all-out when it comes to bookball. He plays for the Ever After High’s bookball team and seems to be quite skilled at the sport.

Although he is rarely shown in that sense, it can be assumed that Daring is skilled in swordsmanship and has achieved many heroic feats. This is suggested numerous times, with one example being in «Spring Unsprung» when Cupid and a few other students track him down and ask him to slay a dragon that’s running rampant. And as suggested in «Save Me Darling!», Daring also plays the hero role in Damsel-in-Distressing, in which he «saves» the girls in scenarios that would otherwise render them helpless. In addition to this, he is seen sparring with Legend in the True Hearts Day special, with the former using a shield and sword to defend himself against the latter’s fire.

Personality

Fiona as an ogress in the Shrek Forever After Handbook.

Fiona initially behaves like an archetypal fairytale princess when she meets Shrek. She speaks formally in matters of courtship and has particular expectations of how she is to be rescued, who is to rescue her, and so forth. Later, Princess Fiona’s true self emerges, revealing a down-to-earth and independent woman who is a match for Shrek when it comes to the bad habits he has. She enjoys burping and likes to get foot massages. She’s a loyal friend and wife, and unlike princesses of fairy tales, an old pro in hand-to-hand combat with knowledge of Chinese martial arts, leading a rebellion with the princesses while pregnant with Shrek’s children. She also has very poor manners (just like Shrek), since she is an ogre. According to the Magic Mirror, she is a feisty woman who likes Pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. She’s shown to be very nurturing and proves to be a great mother to her and Shrek’s triplets.

In the alternative world it is shown that she doesn’t want to be a human and she wants to stay ogre. She is also more hard-headed in this universe, having been disillusioned due to not being rescued for many years.

Шрек: короткометражки

Самая первая короткометражка «Шрек: Медовый месяц» вышла в 2003-м году. В ней рассказывается о том, как Шрек и Фиона планируют отправиться на медовый месяц, но принцессу похищает палач Дюлока, подосланный лордом Фаркуадом. Шрек и Осел отправляются в заколдованный лес вслед за похитителем. Там их поджидает ожившая каменная статуя злого дракона. Но с помощью возлюбленной Осла – красной Драконихи – они побеждают врагов и возвращают Фиону домой. В сказочном отеле Шрек и Фиона в компании друзей отмечают медовый месяц.

Из Шрека и Фионы получилась идеальная пара

Вторая короткометражка вышла в 2007-м году. Она посвящена Рождественским праздникам и называется «Шрек Мороз, зеленый нос». Иногда ее называют «Шрек: Рождество». В мультфильме рассказывается о том, как зеленый огр вместе с Фионой и своими детьми планирует отметить Рождество в тихой семейной обстановке. Но внезапно к ним домой приходят друзья во главе с Ослом и устраивают настоящий кавардак.

Третья короткометражка, «Шрек: Хеллоуин», появилась в 2010-м году. Также она известна под названием «Шрек: страшилки». Согласно сюжету, Шрек и его друзья устраивают что-то вроде соревнований. Они отправляются в заброшенный замок лорда Фаркуада и по очереди рассказывают там страшные истории. Кто не испугается и останется в замке последним, тот станет королем Хеллоуина. Количество смельчаков постепенно уменьшается, пока не остается один Шрек. Он-то и становится королем Хеллоуина и продолжает отмечать праздник со своей семьей. Также существует еще одна, но чуть менее известная короткометражка – «Шрек: триллер».

• He was inspired by Harold Michelson, a storyboard artist and illustrator, who storyboarded movies such as The Birds and The Graduate.
• Despite having barely any screen time in the last two movies, the credits still treat him as part of the main cast.
• In the original script for Shrek (film), he was the King of Duloc, who, along with Queen Lillian.
• Throughout Shrek 2, there are some things that foreshadow his true identity as a frog.
  • In his and Queen Lillian’s bedroom, there is a tapestry of him standing on a bridge over a lily pond. Additionally, their bedsheets/canopy have a leafy green motif
  • Queen Lillian reminisces about how they used to walk down by the pond in their youth
  • A female frog at the Poison Apple asks if she knows him
  • When King Harold tells Fiona that people change for those they love, he says she’d be surprised how much he changed for her mother

Trivia

• Like the previous villain, Lord Farquaad, he wanted to marry Fiona for power and tried to kill Shrek.
• In Shrek 2, Prince Charming was subservient to his mother; the personality change he underwent in the third film could be because his mother died, so he had to grow up and become his own person.
• Charming is so far the most recurring villain in the Shrek series.
• Since Charming was the main antagonist of Shrek The Third, he is the first main antagonist of the third film in a computer animated film series.
• Over the years, most Shrek fans have speculated what became of Prince Charming in the alternate timeline which Rumpelstiltskin created in Shrek Forever After. However, as Prince Charming was supposed to rescue Fiona but Fiona mentions that no one was able to rescue her so she decided to escape herself, it is possible that Prince Charming was killed by the dragon or given that Rumpel killed the kings and became King of Far Far Away, thus stripping Fiona from her royal status, the Fairy Godmother abandoned her plan to take over the kingdom and didn’t send Charming to rescue Fiona, aside that as Rumpel took over the magic wishes business with his contracts as well, Charming and his mother possibly left Far Far Away so the Fairy Godmother could settle her business in another kingdom and possibly find another spouse for Charming.
• When Prince Charming and the villains begin invading Far Far Away, this is somewhat influenced by real-life events such as the Blitzkrieg during WW2 and the invasion of Crimea.
• Prince Charming is arguably the least evil main villain in the franchise as how he loved his mother, cares about Rapunzel, and treats his friends well.
• Prince Charming and Rapunzel were the only villains from Shrek the Third to not be redeemed by the end of the film. This is rather ironic, seeing how they are both good in their source material.
